What is Strawberry Cream Pie?

1. Flaky pie crust 2. Rich vanilla pastry cream 3. Fresh strawberry pie filling

Step #1: Make the Pastry Cream

Besides being incredibly rich and creamy, this pastry cream is simple to make and will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Step #2: Make the Strawberry Pie Filling 

1. Cook fresh strawberries with sugar, cornstarch and salt. 2. Stir in lemon and vanilla extracts and let cool to room temperature.

Step #3: Make the  Pie Crust

Foolproof Pie Crust is tender, flaky, and flavorful. And, the dough is so easy to work with that it's earned the name "foolproof".

Step #4: Assemble the pie... 

Spoon the pastry cream into the bottom crust and smooth into an even layer.

Then spoon the strawberry pie filling over the pastry cream.

Add pie crust cut-outs to the top of the pie, sprinkle with sugar, and bake!

The hardest part...

Let the pie cool for at least 3 hours before serving.

Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Store any uneaten pie in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
