Pie Crust Recipes
I use three tried-and-true pie crust recipes for every kind of pie I make, sweet or savory: basic, flaky pie crust, toasted almond crust, and shortcrust.
My favorite recipe for basic, flaky pie crust (Pâte Brisée) is Foolproof Pie Crust because it is, well, foolproof. I use this crust for fruit pies and Chicken Pot Pie.
My favorite recipe for most cream pies is this crispy Toasted Almond Pie Crust. It's an all-butter crust wot a nutty, crispy texture that provides a delicious contrast to cream pies, like Chocolate Cream Pie and Coconut Cream Pie.
For most dessert tarts, I like to use variations of Shortcrust (Pâte Sucrée), which is a sweet pie crust that's often used for dessert tarts.
