    May Bake Club Baking Challenge!

Bake Something Fun, share it with the world, and {maybe} win a gorgeous Acaciawood Cake Stand.

Last month's first ever Bake Club Baking Challenge was SO. MUCH. FUN. Thank you to all of you who participated by baking such impressive Lemon and Blackberry Layer Cakes and sharing the pictures with me. Y'all kicked some layer cake ass with that challenge and I'm excited to see how you do with this month's challenge recipe. So without further ado...

The May 2019 Bake Club Challenge Recipe:

    The Classic French Napoleon!

Classic French Napoleon Dessert Recipe. Also known as the Mille Feuille Cream Pastry.

The Napoleon is one of my absolute favorite desserts for a couple of reasons:

    • It's crazy good
    • It's considerably more impressive than it is difficult

If you've never made this elegant French pastry you're in for a treat. It's simply puff pastry (which you can make yourself if you really want to, but I always buy mine ready made in my grocer's freezer) filled with layers of pastry cream.

It's a gorgeous combination of flaky, crispy, creamy, and sweet. And, while I wouldn't dare judge you if you ate the entire thing yourself, might I suggest sharing one with a mother - yours or any other? What mother wouldn't love a dessert like this on Mother's Day?

Heck, why limit ourselves? Share one with someone who might, possibly, one day become a mother. Or someone who knows a mother. Or someone who origins can be attributed to a mother. 🙂

If you have questions along the way, leave a comment on this post and I'll get back to you with an answer just as soon as I possibly can.

What the Bake Club is all about:

One of the most enjoyable things about baking is getting to share what we bake with others. We might not all get to sit down at the same table and enjoy a slice of whatever we baked that day, but the magic of the internet is that we can still share it.

That's what the monthly Bake Club Challenge is meant to be about. Every month I share a new recipe, probably with a few step-by-step tutorials or baking tips. If you participate by sharing a picture of what you made, you'll be entered into a drawing to win a prize.

Bake something fun. Share it with the world {or just with me}. And, maybe win a prize.

    The May Bake Club Prize:

Libby Acaciawood Glass Dome Cake Stand

Already own this cake stand or something similar? Have more cake stands than you can handle? If you're selected as the winner, just let me know and I'll send you a couple of other prize options.

    Libbey Acaciawood Cake Stand

The May Bake Club Winner: Karla Johnson (The winner has been notified.)

Follow the instructions below to participate in May's Bake Club Challenge and you'll be automatically entered in a drawing to win the gorgeous Nordic Ware Jubilee Bundt pan.

How To Participate in the May Bake Club Challenge

    1. Click Here to Sign Up to Join the Bake Club. (If you've signed up in the past, you're golden. There's no need to sign up every month.) You'll receive an email each month when a new recipe challenge and prize is announced. This is also how I'll know how to get ahold of you if you win. When you sign up for the Bake Club, you'll be required to put in your name and email address. If you're selected as the winner, I'll send you an email to let you know and ask you where to send your prize.
    2. Bake this month's challenge and show it off! Snap a picture of your masterpiece and post it to Instagram, tagging it with #OfBatterAndDoughBakeClub. You can also upload your photo to the Of Batter and Dough Facebook Page. Or, send your photo to me in an email: rebecca@ofbatteranddough.com. By sharing your photo you'll be automatically entered to win this month's prize - a Libby Acaciawood Glass Dome Cake Stand. Bake the challenge recipe and submit your photo by June 1st.
    3. Want a bonus entry? Leave a comment and a rating for the Classic French Napoleon.
