Today is a really good day because I get to announce my very first giveaway on this blog.
Yippee for free stuff! Let’s jump right in and talk about what you could win… OR just jump to the end of this post and get to entering.
Chef’d is an online meal planning and shopping service that delivers fresh, pre-portioned ingredients to your door in a well insulated and temperature controlled box. I think this is pretty great for a couple of reasons…
1. Delicious home cooked meals that you didn’t have to go shopping for. This is awesome for people like me who really hate shopping.
2. Meal planning takes like 5 seconds. Well, maybe longer if you’re the indecisive type. But, ordering from Chef’d is kind of like selecting what you want from a restaurant menu. Pick what you want and you’re done. All the ingredients for every dish you order get dropped on your doorstep a couple of days later. The box is well insulated and stuffed with freezer packs, so it doesn’t matter if it sits out on your door step for a few hours.
Friends. Do you realize what this can do for your Saturdays?!?
Instead of making a weekly meal plan, creating a shopping list and then grocery shopping for all the ingredients, you could… read a novel, have lunch with a friend, go skydiving, paint a masterpiece, cliff dive off a mountain, join a motorcycle gang… Or, just go back to bed. ALL of which sound like a much better use of your time than grocery shopping. I’m just saying.
To make this giveaway happen, the nice folks at Chef’d send me a Dessert Box packed with ingredients to make this Rosemary Olive Oil Cake.
Looks pretty tasty, eh? It is. Well, it was. It was gone roughly two hours after I made it. It was moist, tender, and packed with tart lemony lusciousness. To be honest, it tasted a lot like these lemon blueberry muffins, which are one of my family’s all time favorite breakfast treats. The fresh rosemary adds a really lovely herbal complexity to the flavor of this cake, making me think I need to add a pinch to those muffins too!
This cake was also really easy to make.
Inside my Chef’d box, was not only every single ingredient I would need to make this lovely cake, but an easy-to-follow recipe card, complete with step-by-step pictures.
*NOTE: The blueberries in these images were not a part of the recipe, but they did come in my chef’d box. The box included a few unexpected freebies like a package of Quaker oatmeal and fresh blueberries. Again, yeah for free stuff! I believe the blueberries were intended to go on the oatmeal. But, I couldn’t resist putting them on this cake. I’m kinda rebellious like that.
Anyway, I set out my ingredients, followed the recipe card, and30 minutes later – CAKE!
So – Would you like a free dessert box from Chef’d?
One of you lucky readers will win a dessert box of your choice from Chef’d. Select whichever dessert you like. Perhaps you, like me, will choose the Rosemary Olive Oil Cake.
