Bake Something Fun, share it with the world, and {maybe} win a fancy new dessert stand.
Thank you to all of you who participated in last month's Bake Club Challenge and sent in pictures of your drool-worthy Mixed Berry Plum Pies! A few of you got all fancy with the top crust, creating impressive designs. Others let me know that it was the first time EVER baking a pie or creating a lattice crust. It was wonderful getting to see all the pictures!
Last month's winner is Barbara from Pennsylvania. Her prize has been sent to her! ❤️
Ready for the next challenge????
The August 2019 Bake Club Challenge Recipe:
Peach Almond Thumbprint Cookies!
These tender little shortbread cookies hold a very special place in my heart because they remind me so much of my Grandma. She was the Cookie Queen of our family and one of my favorites were her jewel toned thumbprint cookies. The year after she passed away, I created this recipe in a wave of nostalgia for the days when I would sit at her kitchen table, nibbling away at a plate of cookies while talking with my Grandparents.
These particular thumbprint cookies are filled with peach preserves because - it's peach season, baby! In the few weeks of the year that Colorado peaches are in season, we all about make ourselves sick on them. They are SO delicious. I also always make at least one batch (and preferably several) of peach preserves, and these cookies are one of my favorite things to bake with it.
You, of course, don't have to make homemade peach preserves to bake up a delicious batch of these little cookies. Just be sure to purchase a high quality brand because the flavor of the jam or preserves really comes through in every bite.
You also don't have to use peach preserves. I recently baked up a batch of these cookies using Strawberry Rhubarb Jam and they were delicious. Use any kind you like - or do what my Grandma used to and use several different kinds of jam.
